Muay Thai/STX Kickboxing
Muay Thai, or Thai Boxing, is Thailand’s national sport and a highly effective martial art for MMA and self-defense. Known as the “Art of 8 Limbs,” it utilizes hands, elbows, knees, and feet. At Garuda Muay Thai & MMA, we focus on the technical “Muay Femur” style and teach integration with MMA through the STX (Savate Thai crossover) kickboxing system. STX, developed by Guro Dan Inosanto and Sensei Erik Paulson, blends Muay Thai and French Savate for a versatile approach.
Combat Submission Wrestling/No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu are the focus of the grappling system taught at Garuda Muay Thai & MMA. CSW was developed by world renowned fighter and coach, Sensi Erik Paulson. CSW is a mixed grappling system that blends many martial arts such as Jiu-Jitsu, Catch Wrestling, Sambo, Shooto and others into a system that can easily be applied to Mixed Martial Arts, NoGi Sports Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense.
Kali/Filipino Martial Arts
Kali, a martial art from the Philippines, is a complete fighting system emphasizing proficiency in all areas of combat. Renowned for its impact and bladed weapon techniques, it also includes empty-hand striking (Panantukan) and grappling (Dumog). Used globally for self-defense, law enforcement, military training, and film choreography, Kali is a versatile and practical art. At Garuda Muay Thai & MMA, we teach the Inosanto mixed Kali system, developed by Guro Dan Inosanto and passed to Coach Tim through Sifu Chris Clarke of NW Kali. Experience this beautiful art that strengthens both mind and body!
Silat
Silat is a highly effective martial art from Indonesia, Malaysia, Southern Thailand, and the Philippines. Primarily focused on self-defense, it includes strikes, ground fighting, and weapon techniques, with applications for sport as well. At Garuda, we integrate Silat into our striking, grappling, and self-defense training.
